Environmental Site Assessments
Phase I
Potential buyers of a property rely on AEG personnel to conduct a Phase I
real estate environmental evaluation. The Phase I investigation consists of
contacting national and local agencies to determine the past and present use
of environmentally regulated materials at the subject property and at all
businesses within a one-mile radius. During the investigation, review of
aerial photographs are also done. AEG's Phase I investigations are all done
with strcit adherence to the newest ASTM 1527 standards.
Phase II and Phase III
Many underground chemical and waste storage systems fail releasing their contents into the subsurface. The result can be contamination of soil and potable groundwater resources. AEG has engineers, hydrogeologists, and geologists who each have over 20 years experience in the assessment and remediation of soil and groundwater resources that have been impacted by various organic and inorganic substances and heavy metal compounds. AEG's in-situ remediation techniques include vapor extraction for volatile organic compounds in soil, bioremediation for soil and groundwater substrates impacted by petroleum and chlorinated solvents, air sparging and dual-phase extraction for groundwater remediation projects, and chemical fixation for soils laden with certain heavy metals. AEG staff have completed numerous exsitu remediation projects involving soil excavation and disposal when site restoration projects require expediency. AEG's staff have a working knowledge of all local and regional environmental regulations, and continuously interface with the regulators.
